Nikki FINALLY found a really cool job on the Island. She's contracting (read: temporary) for the Whidbey Animals' Improvement Foundation (WAIF) located in Coupeville, WA. (About 15 minutes south of Oak Harbor.) After interviewing for a job as the Executive Director's assistant, she was offered a contract position, doing fundraising and development for WAIF. The job is awesome, the people are so-so. WAIF is a non-profit, similar to the Humane Society, but operates as a minimum kill facility (No animals are put down due to space needs, only health reasons.) There are two shelters and a seperate Cat Adoption Center, all serving Whidbey Island. Doggies and Kitties get to stay as long as they like until they find a new family. www.waifanimals.org
Michael finally started work at VAQ-129 (http://vaq-129.ahf.nmci.navy.mil/) VAQ-129 is the training squadron for the EA-6B Prowler aircraft. He'll spend about 10 months here learning the aircraft and his job before transferring to an operational squadron here at Whidbey Island (or possibly in Atsugi, Japan if he's lucky!)
In this picture are Jake (orange) and K-O (white) who are Nikki's favorite kitties at the Coupeville shelter, (also where her office is located.)
