A 26.2 Mile Distraction...

The Inaugural Seattle Rock n Roll Marathon:
Saturday, July 27th, 2009...FINISHED!

There are 3 things Nikki has never had the desire to do: Skydiving, Bungee Jumping, and Running a Marathon (or anything longer.) Peer pressure on a college trip to Las Vegas took care of skydiving. Then, when faced with 5 months of no husband and not much else to do where we live...marathon time! Renee bravely decided to tackle the half marathon...for most of which she danced instead of walked!

Above: Running in downtown Seattle around mile 16-18 (That's avery blurry space needle in the background.)

Above: Crossing the finish line with Janine, the best running buddy ever! 5 hours, 52 minutes.

Above: Sweaty, but SO HAPPY to have accomplished so many miles!

Above: There was never a moment to miss Michael when the VAQ-140 ladies showed up with noisemakers and airhorns at the finish! Thank you ladies!

OEF:160

This week, Michael hit over 160 hours of flight time in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
As we prepare to celebrate the 4th of July, please keep all of our deployed military members in your thoughts!
